Dr Clare O’Connor

Dr Jody Chiang Pericleous

Veterinarian
BVB DVM

ody joined Great Western Animal Hospital in 2026 and graduated with her Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (BVB/DVM) in 2021.

She has a special interest in surgery, particularly delicate soft tissue procedures such as trauma repair and exploratory laparotomies. Jody also enjoys feline medicine and providing attentive in-patient care, making sure hospitalised pets feel safe, comfortable and well supported during their stay.

Jody chose a career in veterinary medicine because she loves helping animals in need and creating a space where they feel happy and secure, both physically and mentally. She finds it incredibly rewarding to know she can improve a pet’s life, even in small ways. Patients at GWAH quickly learn that she has a soft spot for them and will happily sneak in a smooch for your fur baby whenever possible, especially if they’re a cat.

What Jody loves most about working at GWAH is the supportive and compassionate team culture. She appreciates being part of a clinic that genuinely prioritises patient comfort and works hard to make every vet visit or hospital stay as low stress as possible.

Outside of work, Jody enjoys Pilates, badminton and bouldering. She also loves getting creative with crafts, watching TV, and fitting in the occasional well deserved nap.

At home, she has four adored cats: Lumi, Sika, Stormi and Moofasa. Lumi, a Ragdoll, was adopted on her very first day at her first ever vet job, and the other three domestic medium hairs were adopted through work.
