| Dr Matthew Cox |
|
Matt is a part owner and senior veterinarian at Great Western Animal Hospital. He has a wealth of experience in small animal medicine and surgery and an extra soft spot for cats. He has completed a post graduate course in surgery and is constantly updating our procedures and protocols to ensure we maintain the highest standard of care for our patients.
‘After graduating from Sydney Uni in 1995, I worked as a small animal veterinarian for 3 years in Western Sydney before taking off for the UK on a working holiday. It was a great experience and gave me a chance to work with a lot more rabbits, guinea pigs and pocket pets (hamsters, mice, ferrets, chinchillas) than I had in Australia.
I enjoy both the surgical and medicine aspects of being a veterinarian and find work very rewarding – well worth all the long hours put in.
I love to play golf when I have the chance, watch the English premier league and to my wife’s dismay can easily hold an 8 hour conversation on most sports. I am owned by a cat named Taylor and two young daughters. |

Mila is a part owner and senior veterinarian at Great Western Animal Hospital. She worked here as an associate veterinarian for a year before becoming a partner. She has completed a post graduate course in clinical medicine.
I graduated from Sydney Uni in 1997 having wanted to be a veterinarian from the age of 7 ( A Country Practice and All Creatures Great and Small probably had a great deal to do with this!) I love the medicine side of being a veterinarian and find it very rewarding to be able to educate and improve the health and comfort of both animals and their owners.
I spent 4 years working in England and backpacking and photographing the world before returning to Australia to join the Great Western team.
We have a dog called Cassie who was rescued from the local pub and 2 young daughters who make sure I never quite get time to put my feet up!
I am very proud of our great team who always do their utmost to provide a compassionate and high quality health care service that our clients and their pets deserve.

| Dr Victoria Jordan |

| Victoria graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science(Hons I) from the University of Sydney in 2005. She spent a few years working in small animal practice in the Lower Blue Mountains, before joining us at Great Western Animal Hospital in October 2008. Victoria particularly enjoys internal medicine and has a keen interest in animal behaviour, completing a post graduate course in Behavioural Medicine in 2008. Victoria is owned by two adorable pooches, Dusk and SCSI who were adopted from Monika’s Doggie Rescue. In her spare time, she likes to bake cookies and cupcakes and is slowly trying to read her way through the ‘classics’ but has a long way to go. |

| I graduated from Sydney University vet school in 1991 and have been working as a small animal vet since then. After gaining a few years experience on the Central Coast I went to England on a working holiday where I locummed as a vet and enjoyed travelling in the UK and Europe and even a tiny bit of North Africa. Since returning to Sydney I have worked solely in small animal practice and have recently enlivened my life by having two children. I started working at Great Western as a part-time vet in 2009 and am enjoying being part of such a friendly practice. I have an interest in veterinary ophthalmology and in 2005 completed a years further study in this field. Last year I lost my old canary Chewy but I am about to fill the gap with a Burmese kitten. My son recently told me he is building a farm in the backyard so I may be busy there! |

Dr Kathy Mepstead |
I have wanted to be a vet since the age of 8 and feel very privileged to have fulfilled my dream. I graduated from Sydney Uni in 1992 and have worked in small animal practice in Sydney ever since. Two years ago I sold my own practice, that I ran for 12 years to spend more time with my family. I now have the pleasure of working with the wonderful staff of Great Western Animal Hospital every Saturday. I am also fortunate to have a lecturing position at an evening course in animal care that I really enjoy. The thing I like most about my job is educating clients on how to care for their 4 legged family members.
Outside of work I enjoy being with my little family of 2 beautiful children, a wonderful husband, a dog, cat, rabbit and 2 budgies. We love anything to do with the water, the snow and travelling. |
